Scientific Name: Virginia valeriae pulchra
Etymology:
Genus: Virginia is derived from the Latin word virgo which means "virgin".
 Species: valeriae is to honor Miss Valeria Blaney, the first documented collector of the species.
 Subspecies: pulchra is derived from the Latin word pulcher which means "beautiful".
