On Saturday, May 16th 2009, Tim Christensen, Nick Christensen and Joy Ware, members of the elite research group know as
Snake Force One represented the VHS at the opening ceremony for the recently acquired Hutchinson tract of the Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge.
Snake Force One has been conducting a study of the health and disease status of snakes at the Rappahannock Refuge, James River Refuge, and Presquile Island since fall 2005.
